It’s no secret that the Suicide Squad teaser trailer that was presented at San Diego Comic Con last year was only meant to be scene by those inside the panel. Unfortunately there are attention craving low lives who have to break the trust between the fans and the studios who are gracious enough to show them this little treat. The teaser trailer was leaked and instead of trying to burry it, WB decided to release it online in HD rather then have a crappy version of it out there giving people a bad impression. While it was unfortunate, ultimately I believe it was the right call from the studio.
This new trailer doesn’t give us to much more as far as story goes but what it does do is give us a completely different tone when compared to the last. The SDCC trailer had that dark, grim, gritty feel to it, making it seem as it belonged in this “DC Expanded Universe” that began with 2013’s Man of Steel. This new trailer does a nice job of mixing the gritty with fun and enjoyable entertainment with the classic Queen song “Bohemian Rhapsody”, which was missing from the studios last outing IMO.
Suicide Squad, directed by David Ayer stars Jared Leto, Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and Viola Davis and will hit theaters August 5th, 2016.
